Jomsom-Muktinath Trek

Jomsom-Muktinath trek is a classic trek in the Mustang locale that incorporates the world's most profound chasm of the Kali Gandaki River.     Day

    Day 01: Drive to Pokhara overnight at Pokhara.

    Today early in the morning we head towards Pokhara. Lunch will be served on the way. After reaching Pokhara, you will have leisure time for the rest of the day. You can visit around Lakeside. Dinner will be served in the evening.

    Day

    Day 02: Drive to Nayapul 40 km then trek to Tikhedhunga.

    After breakfast transfer to Nayapul via Lumle and start trek. Lunch at Birethanti (3400ft. /1037m) and continue trek to Tirkhedhunga (5175 ft / 1577m). Trek duration (3 hours). Dinner and at Tikhedhunga.

    Day

    Day 03: Trek to Ghorepani.

    Full day uphill trek through Brahmins, Chettris, Gurungs and Magars villages, to Banthanti where lunch will be served. Afternoon trek through dense forests of rhododendron and pine and arrive at Ghorepani (9300 ft / 2724m). Trek duration 6 hours. Dinner and overnight at Ghorepani.

    Day

    Day 04: Morning Poonhill and then trek to Tatopani.

    Pre-dawn wake up and trek up to Pun hill to view the sunrise (weather permitting). After breakfast at Ghorepani start a day long trek down to Tatopani (3900m. /1189m). The trail descends steadily to Tatopani, literally "Hot Water", one can bath in the Hot springs. Trek duration 6 hours. Dinner and overnight at Tatopani.

    Day 05: Trek to Ghasa

    After breakfast, follow the Kali Gandaki River passing by waterfalls, Thakalis, and Magar Villages to Dana (4750 ft./ 1446m). After lunch, continue trek up hill to Ghasa (6600 ft. / 2012m). Trek duration 6 hours. Dinner and overnight at Ghasa.

    Day

    Day 06: Trek to Marpha.

    As one passes between the Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna range, a dramatic change in vegetation is witnessed from green forests, to dry arid desert. Passing through Kalopani (2530m. / 8300 ft), we get the first views of the Annapurnas. Rest at Lamjung in a Thakali village. Trek to site at Marpha (8750 ft./ 2667m). Trek duration 6 hours. Dinner and overnight at Marpha.

    Day

    Day 07: Trek to Kagbeni.

    We start the trek slowly and arrive at Jomsom for lunch. The Thakalis are the dominant tribe of the valley, related to the Gurungs and Magars of the southern slopes. After lunch, we continue trekking to Kagbeni (2800m), which is the gateway to upper Mustang. Trek duration 5 hours. Dinner and overnight at Kagbeni.

    Day 08: Trek to Muktinath.

    Trek slowly up to Muktinath (12,475ft. /3802m). After lunch, guests must rest for acclimatization. Trek duration 4 hours. Dinner and overnight at Muktinath.

    Day

    Day 09: Trek to Jomsom.

    After breakfast, trek back to Jomsom. Trek duration 5 hours. Dinner and overnight at Jomsom.

    Day

    Day 10: Morning fly to Pokhara and drive back to Kathmandu.

    After early morning breakfast you will take the first flight to Pokhara. From Pokhara you will drive towards Kathmandu. The drive will last around 5 hours following the Prithvi highway with the Trishuli River running alongside and the wonderful view of the surrounding hills. Lunch will be served on the way.
