The Druk Path Trek (12 Days) can be concluded in 5 Days which is the most famous trek in Bhutan. The route of this trek passes through a scenic landscapes of pine forests, unspoiled lakes and high passes. At the same time, Druk Path Trek offers an opportunity to exploring some of the ancient Lhakhangs, Fortress (Dzongs) and picturesque villages.
The Druk Path Trek takes you through forests of blue pine, dwarf rhododendrons and forest of firs that is located at the altitude between 2000m to 4000m. Trekkers will arrive at Crystal clear Jimiling Lake on the day third; the lake is also a home of massive trout.
The Druk Path Trek also provides trekkers spectacular views of Mt. Gangkar Puensum, which is said to be the highest un-scaled peak in the world. The best months to visit on the Druk Path Trek are between March to June and September to November.
Day 1: Arrival in Paro, transfer to the hotel
Day 2: Sightseeing in Paro, Hike to Taktshang Monastery; Tiger’s Nest
Day 3: Drive from Paro to Jili (Jele) Dzong (3436m) (Start Trek): 8 KM, 4-5 hours
Day 4: Trek from Jili (Jele) Dzong to Jangchulakha (3962m): 9 KM, 5-6 hours
Day 5: Trek from Jangchulakha to Jimilang Tsho (3880m): 10 KM, 5-6 hours
Day 6: Trek from Jimilang Tsho to Simkotra (4090m): 7 KM, 3-4 hours
Day 7: Trek from Simkotra Tsho to Phajoding to Thimpu (Finish Trek)
Day 8: Sightseeing in Thimpu
Day 9: Drive to Paro - Departure
