Annapurna Circuit Trek

Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most desired and attempted treks from novice to pro trekkers. Annapurna Circuit Trek makes a complete round of the Annapurna Mountain Ranges providing excellent adventure and spectacular views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Lamjung Himal mountains. This trek is complete package of adventure, hardship, natural and cultural encounters. The trial is a mixture of ups and down taking you to the highest pass Thorung La passes and to the deepest gorge in the whole world Kali Gandaki. The treks is truly amazing as it covers the huge area of Annapurna Conservation Area that covers some significant places like, Ghorepani, Poonhill, Beautiful villages of Lamjung and Manang, the forbidden Kingdom Mustang, Muktinath, Jomsom and many more. The trek is usually a very easy trek till base of Thorung La pass. The uphill climb to the Thorung La is a really hard climb but it will be worth climbing it for the ultimate thrill and experience. The views get better as we move up till the pass. After steep climb we descend towards Muktinath via Ranipauwa village. The trek usually starts from Beshishar and ends up in beautiful Pokhara City. The main highlights of this trek are the villages with their ethnic cultures, beautiful lush green forests along the trial, soaring high waterfalls, huge number of flora and fauna that can be seen along the way, sunrise from Poonhill, Manang village which is also called Himalayan Shangri-La, Muktinath, Jomsom, spectacular views of Annapurna I (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8167m),  Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchre (6993m), Huinchuli (6441m) etc

    Day

    Arrival In Kathmandu

    Random Adventures representative will pick you up and guide you till the hotel. Short briefing regarding the trek will be done at the hotel.

    Day

    Kathmandu sightseeing

    After breakfast, we start an interesting tour around Kathmandu. Escorting by an English speaking guide (can be provide any language speaking guide on request) be, try to give them a full taste of our vivid culture image and an enchanting manner of its people. In our sightseeing tour we go to Monkey temple Swyambhunath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar square. Overnight Kathmandu.

    Day

    Drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule (840 m)

    We start our trek from Bhulbhule which is a village development committee in Lamjung District in the Gandaki Zone of northern-central Nepal. So, we drive to Bhulbhule which will take around 6 hours in a normal traffic conditions. Lunch will be served along the way to Bhulbhule. We will be staying in Hotel/Lodge in Bhulbhule.

    Day

    Trek to Bahundanda (1310 m)

    After breakfast at Bhulbhule we will start the trek along side of Marsyangdi River to Bahundanda also known as “Brahmin Hill” there are really good views to the North. Lamjung Mountain ranges can be observed occasionally during the trek. It takes about 4 Hours to reach Bahundanda from Bhulbhule. Overnight at Bahundanda. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Day

    Trek to Chamje (1430m)

    The Marsyangdi River now becomes narrower and more upstream as we progress towards Chamje. The terrain changes gradually with respect to the culture and lifestyle of people. After 6 hours of walking from Bahundanda, Chamje is reached. Overnight at Chamje. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Trek to Dharapani (1860 m)

    It takes around 6-7 hours walk from Chamje to Dharapani. We cross Manang District and see more cultural differences according the landscapes during the walk. Overnight at Dharapani. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Trek to Chame (2670 m)

    After leaving Dharapani and walking for around 5-6 hours you’ll reach Chame. Chame is a government and district of Manang. There you can see some interesting old buildings and numerous hot springs. Overnight at Chame. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Trek to Pisang (3200m)

    The walk is kind of same 5-6 hours to reach Pisang. The trial consists of pine, hemlock and cypress forests. Wonderful view of Annapurna II can be seen along the trial. Most of the men residing here are traders and part time farmers whereas women are full time farmers. Overnight at Pisang. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Trek to Manang (3540 m)

    From Pisang it takes around 6 hours to get to this beautiful village of Manang. The trial passes via an old village called Braga in where one of the oldest monasteries of the whole area stands up. It is considered to be around 900 years old and belong to Tibetan Buddhists. Overnight at Manang. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Acclimatization at Manang

    Today is day for acclimatization in Manang; on this day what we actually do is take enough rest. Also stay active for the upcoming trial. Walking up to higher lands is a good idea to stay active and moving. There are some caves, lakes, monasteries and beautiful hills within short distance from Manang. Overnight at Manang. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Trek to Ledar (4200 m)

    We cross small tributaries and contours to reach Ledar for walking about 4 hours. You might be lucky to encounter a herd of blue sheep. Overnight at Ledar. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Trek to Thorong Phedi (4450 m)

    After walking for about 3 hours and gradually gaining altitude of 4450m we reach to the foothills of Thorong Pass called Thorong Phedi. ‘Phedi’ means foot of a hill. Overnight at Thorong Phedi. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Trek to Muktinath (3760 m)

    This is the most interesting day of the entire trek and a bit hard too. On this day you will be ascending about 1000 m height and descending about 1600 m to reach Muktinath. After a steady climb to Thorong pass (the highest point on the overall circuit) we descend towards the direction of Muktinath. The top of the Thorong pass is marked by pack of stones called cairn. Muktinath is an important scared shrine and pilgrimage for both Buddhist and Hindu. It is believed once Guru Ringpoche meditated around Muktinath area on his travel to Tibet to spread Buddhism. Also for Hindus’ Muktinath is temple of a powerful god called Vishnu. Overnight at Muktinath. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Trek to Jomsom (2800 m)

    The walk from Muktinath takes about 5 hours. We will walk through Lurpa- village where people still practice Pre-Buddhist Bon religion. We will also see some ancient caves along with impressive Dhaulagiri Mountain (8167 m) on the backdrop. Overnight at Jomsom. Tea house lodge or hotel.

    Day

    Fly or drive to Pokhara (820 m)

    We can either fly or drive back to Pokhara depending upon your choice. The flight takes about 20 minutes and the drive will take around 10-14 hours to reach Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.

    Pokhara City Tour

    Pokhara City Tour includes visit to Davis falls, Mahendra Cave, Chamero Cave, Gupteswar Mahadev, and Bindyabasini Temple Etc. You can also enjoy boat ride in the beautiful Fewa Lake. Overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.

    Day

    Fly or drive back to Kathmandu

    We can either fly or drive back to Kathmandu according to your demand or choice.The flight will be for 25 minutes and it will take around 5-6 hours (200km) if we drive. We will be following the Prithivi highway along side of the Trisuli River. One can observe scenic views during the drive including the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Lunch spot will be on the way to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

    Our representatives from Random Adventures will drop you off at airport and bid you farewell.
