Introduction of Nepal

Introducing Nepal combines natural, cultural, and wildlife experiences. The tour begins in the Kathmandu Valley which serves as the economic hub, cultural center, and the cosmopolitan destination for wondrous Nepal. With a marvelous 2000-year-old culture infused with a mixture of Hinduism and Buddhism, Kathmandu abounds with religious festivals and temples, history, and activities.  We also visit Nagarkot, a village located in the hills of the valley that offers remarkable views of the Himalayas. Next, drive south to the sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan National Park and explore the area by canoeing and jungle safari. From Chitwan, we continue our journey to the fantastic Lake City of Pokhara. The 9-day tour encompasses some of the most spectaculars natural, cultural, and wildlife splendors of Nepal.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath and Bauddhanath

    Day

    Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m/4,264 ft)

    Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, a Random Adventures representative will pick us up from the airport. We will then be transferred to our hotel. We can either visit Himalayan Glacier’s office in Thamel or take a rest at our hotel room during the late afternoon. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Himalayan Glacier. For dinner, you will be served excellent Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country's food culture. Overnight in Kathmandu. Included meals:Dinner

    Sightseeing in Kathmandu: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath and Bauddhanath

    After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour by visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepalese art and architecture at its best. The architecture is typical of the Malla dynasty who ruled over Nepal from the 12th to the 18th century. Swayambhunath Temple is popular among the foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. Pashupatinath Temple is situated on the banks of river Bagmati and is one of the principal temples of Lord Shiva. The Bauddhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in South Asia which is built on the ancient trade route to Tibet. Included meals:Breakfast

    Sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapur and sunset views from Nagarkot

    Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Patan Durbar Square is rich in ancient arts and architecture. We also visit Bhakatpur, an irresistible city with an authentic local lifestyle preserved over centuries of isolation from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. While in the city square, we get to admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, water spouts and the 55 Window Palace which merge together to provide an ambiance of a magical outdoor theater to its visitors. We also immerse ourselves in the authentic delicacy of the locals in Bhaktapur. Then we drive to Nagarkot, a village renowned for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas and enjoy spectacular sunset views amidst the Himalayas. Overnight in Nagarkot.     Sunrise from Nagarkot then drive to Chitwan (815 m/2,674 ft): 5-6 hours

    Early in the morning, we enjoy amazing views of the sunrise amidst the Himalayas. After breakfast we drive to Chitwan located 175 kilometers from Kathmandu. We descend down along the winding road on the banks of the Trishuli River. After checking in to the hotel, there will be a briefing on the activities we will be engaged in during our stay in Chitwan. We then walk on the banks of the Rapti River to enjoy the sunset in the sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan. In the evening, we enjoy dinner along with a brief cultural program showcasing the tribal dances unique to the Chitwan region of Nepal. Included meals:Breakfast Lunch Dinner

    Day

    Chitwan National Park

    Early in the morning, we will be mounted on elephants for a jungle safari through dense grasslands to witness wildlife in its natural habitat. After breakfast, we visit the elephant stables and even enjoy bathing the elephants. During the afternoon we can drive through the jungles followed by a canoe ride down the Rapti River. While canoeing, we may get a close look at the Gharial and Mugger crocodiles along with fresh water dolphins, otters and varieties of water birds. Or, we may even go for bird watching or nature walks and come closer to a variety of wild flora and fauna found in the park. Overnight in Chitwan. Included meals:Breakfast Lunch Dinner

    Drive from Chitwan to Pokhara (823m/2,700ft): 134km, 4-5 hours

    After breakfast, we leave Chitwan for Pokhara, also known as The Lake City owing to the large number of lakes in the city. The road first passes through the subtropical jungles and fertile vegetation in Chitwan. As we leave Chitwan, the landscape changes. We see hills, small settlements and terraced farms. Upon our arrival in Pokhara, the beautiful lake city, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Manaslu (8,156m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), the five peaks of Annapurna and others. We check-in to our hotel and take a rest. We may also stroll in the streets of Pokhara and just enjoy being in one of the most beautiful cities of Nepal. Overnight in Pokhara.     Sightseeing in Pokhara

    Early in the morning we leave for Sarangkot, a hill that overlooks the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in the north and Pokhara city in the south. From here, we catch amazing views of the sun as it rises in the mighty Himalayas. We then head back to Pokhara and continue touring the city’s landmarks. Davis Falls is a unique waterfall that flows directly into a narrow and deep canal which has no end. The Shiva Cave is located near Davis Fall and houses a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, a primary Hindu God. We also do some boating in Phewa Lake, the largest lake in Pokhara and visit Bindyabasini Temple located at the center of the Lake. We visit the famous International Mountain Museum (IMM) that records, documents and chronicles the past and present development of mountaineering activities in the world and the Himalayas in particular. We also tour the Tibetan refugee camp and witness how the refugees keep themselves busy by producing and trading woolen carpets and other handicraft items. Overnight in Pokhara.     Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu: 213km, 5-6 hours

    After breakfast, we say goodbye to the beautiful northern skyline of Pokhara and drive towards Kathmandu. This will be a journey along river banks with wonderful views of hills and rural Nepalese lifestyle. After reaching Kathmandu, we can take a rest or do some souvenir shopping. To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu. Included meals:Breakfast Dinner

    Final Departure

    Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! A representative from Random Adventures will take us to the airport approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight. Included meals:Breakfast
